Life is about making choices.
Principles
- Don’t forget to calculate the cost of ‘buying your freedom’ — freedom isn’t as cheap as one might think.
- Make your choice based on your true will:
- A decision made out of fear can be blind. There’s a giant gap between “what one should do” and “what one DOES NOT want”.
- A decision made out of pressure is false. Responsibility is not the same as submission. It’s OK to be different — as long as it’s not for difference’s sake.
- A decision made out of greed is dangerous. Risks must be calculated, not estimated.
- Avoiding choices is often equivalent to choosing the worst one.
“Freedom to choose” and “choice for freedom”
We have to choose for freedom, before we have the freedom to choose.
